A sixteen year old girl described by her family as an “angel” collapsed and died at a bus stop outside her school.
A-grade student Magdalena Szablinska, who was a super-fan of One Direction and had been photographed with the band dozens of times, is believed to have suffered a sudden cardiac arrest by St Mark’s Catholic School in Hounslow. Paramedics rushed the sixth form pupil, who lived with her parents in Hayes, to Middlesex Hospital but doctors were unable to save her.
Her father Tadeusz told the Standard today: “We are trying to come to terms with this. She was an angel and everybody has said so. So many people have contacted us to pay their respects, she was so loved. “She liked One Direction and had so many friends on Facebook, she loved school and was very popular and doing very well, she was our star.”
Magda ran a One Direction fan account on Twitter called 1DCrew that had almost 100,000 followers.
Fellow fans of the band today described her as a “truly dedicated Directioner” and expressed their sorrow online, causing the phrase #RIPMagda to trend.
Their messages prompted band member Harry Styles to tweet: “It’s incredibly sad to hear the news about Magda. She was so so lovely, i am thinking of her and her family. RIP .xx — Harry Styles (@Harry_Styles) January 24, 2014 X
